Job description
As the Email Marketing Retention Specialist for Stanley 1913, you will be responsible for the email marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, engagement and sales. Your primary goal is to strengthen customer loyalty and boost retention through well-crafted email and SMS campaigns. You’ll take charge of the email marketing calendar, planning newsletters, product promotions, and transactional emails that drive repeat purchases.
In this role, you’ll:
- Build and manage segmentation set-up and content to ensure campaigns reach the right audience at the right time.
- Collaborate with copywriters and designers to create compelling, multilingual email templates, partnering with translation agencies to ensure messages resonate with diverse customer segments.
- Design and implement automated workflows, such as welcome sequences, abandoned cart reminders, and post-purchase follow-ups, all geared towards fostering long-term engagement.
- Analyze key performance indicators like open rates, click-through rates (CTR), and conversions, using A/B testing to optimize retention strategies.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and other email marketing regulations.
- Stay ahead of trends in email marketing, with a particular focus on retention strategies that keep the customers coming back.
Customer Retention at the Core
Your work will directly contribute to increasing customer satisfaction, engagement, and repeat purchases. By optimizing automated email flows and collaborating closely with the e-commerce team, you’ll play a vital role in aligning campaigns with business objectives.
You will report to the eCommerce DTC Manager for EMEA, based in Amsterdam, and be part of a dynamic team dedicated to driving exceptional customer experiences. Furthermore, you will work closely with the global counterparts to share best practices, align strategies, and leverage their expertise.

About the team:
The Email Marketing Retention Specialist EMEA will report directly to the eCommerce Manager. The team is made up eight other colleagues, with four direct colleagues in the D2C webshop team (CRO/UX Specialist, Performance Specialist, Customer Success Manager, Merchandising Specialist).

Who you are:
You are a highly motivated, proactive, and independent email marketer with a passion for customer retention. You are analytical, data-driven, and a team player. You are communicative and can collaborate well with various stakeholders. You have a growth mindset and are constantly looking for improvement
Furhtermore you have:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in email marketing focused on customer retention;
- Bachelor/Master's degree in business, marketing, communication, or a related field;
- Experience with Klaviyo, Salesforce, and CRM tools (Yotpo is a plus);
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Figma is a plus;
- Experience with Google Analytics 4 or Adobe Analytics;
- Passion for e-commerce and consumer psychology;
- Fluent English (other European languages are a plus).
Who are you?
- A job for 32 - 40 hours;
- Competitive salary €63.000 - €80.000 a year (including holiday allowance);
- Bonus of 10%, based on organisation and personal performance;
- Contract will be 1 year definite with 1 month probation period and intention after this one year for an indefinite period;
- 25 holidays;
- €3 a day work from home allowance;
- €80 per month phone contributions (this means you can decide yourself how you set up your work phone);
- Commuting allowance, they encourage to take public transportation as they don’t have parking space nor do they reimburse parking cost. With public transport full coverage of cost;
- Pension – own contribution of 5%, the rest is contributed by the company. The contribution is age related;
